There are at least two areas south of Monterrey where a very similar looking agave grows

the nicest plants in the parryi complex I have found were within this population

that shoots up a tall 10-20' packed with small light green to yellow flowers

These plants are found growing in oak, pine, & juniper forest at about 8000' and are the Southernmost population of the parryi complex that reaches well into Arizona, New Mexico, extreme Western Texas, Chihuahua & Durango.
