Main Engine House End Size:XS B to A at MorwellThe end wall of the main engine house at Elrington Colliery, with the workshop building visible behind it. Both structures formed the core of the surface complex BHP Collieries built near Abernethy to supply coal to its Newcastle steelworks. Surface infrastructure at the site was largely complete by 1927, and coal production commenced in 1930. Part of the Elrington Colliery series.
